In 2014, after suffering the loss of my Dear Sister Anne and upon returning from the island of Dominica after laying her to rest, I started this journey. Maybe for many reasons, the pain I felt from the loss of my dearest sister, forced me to revisit the things that were familiar and dear to me. At that time, I immersed myself into creating foods from flavors that were familiar to me. It brought back something familiar – the days when we would all huddle with my mom in the tiny kitchen, watching her use simple but flavorful ingredients and create the most amazingly tasty food. share this tasty tradition with you in our bottles of flavorful sauces.

In December 2020, the year of the pandemic, I rediscovered the business plan for Dekkade Pastonade, neatly stashed in a filing cabinet. I picked it up and a flood of beautiful memories returned. I feel alive again and have immersed myself into sharing these effortlessly tasty products with the world.

DEKKADE the brand represents everything dear to me. D - represents my birthplace Dominica where I was born and the E- the Enterprising and resilient spirit the pushes me forward. KK is a tribute to my loving son, Kyle Kelsick. ADE is a representation of my name Adelaide and pays homage to my loving sister Anne, and my Dear mom Angela – 3 A’s. DEKKADE is a play on the word (Decade), as it represents generations and the process of rebirth every 10 Years.
